This sofa-bed was one of my final year projects on the BA Furniture Design course at Nottingham Trent University. The year was 1992 and being a poor student I didn't own a digital camera (only the really well off owned them then) so I didn't get very many good photos that show it off to it's best advantage.
It was quite an experience to build this from initial design drawings to actual manual construction and upholstery, I made it whilst on a work placement at an upholstery firm in Somerset and was quite proud of the result.
The series of photos show the basic stages of construction of the sofa-bed and the quilt in the final two photos is reversible and was also made by me.
I sold the sofa-bed in a local furniture shop in Nottingham to finance a trip to Amsterdam.
